  • Providing an inclusive space for tamariki/children & young people/taiohi and their whānau/families. 
  • ‘Educating for life’. Developing each child’s social, emotional, sensory, communication, cognitive, physical and selfcare skills within the context of their family and community. 
  • Addressing integrated learning needs through a whole child, family and community approach. 
  • Celebrating every child’s achievement as a team. 
  • Encouraging every child to find their ‘voice’, walk their own steps, and discover how to actively participate in everyday life and experience the fun in learning.

To provide the specialist help children & young people need in order to engage successfully in activities that enrich their lives.

The activities and programmes at Little Stars SMART Centre are designed and delivered by a transdisciplinary team. This includes parents, carers, extended family members and skilled activity assistants.

The therapists include:

  • a qualified Music Therapist, from the UK, with previous experience in Conductive Education for preschool and school aged children. 
  • Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists and a Speech Language Therapist.
